Erk-Han in the automotive industry

Bursa is one of the centers of the Turkish automotive industry, and Erk-Han produces here, in Bursa OSB. We supply plastic part makers in the automotive supply chain with black, white and color masterbatch and functional additives for interior, exterior and under-hood parts, and ship via Gemlik Port to part manufacturers in Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Application areas

  • Interior trim: Dashboard panels and door handles; low odor (VOC) and scratch resistance come first.
  • Exterior trim: Bumper brackets and mirror housings; UV resistance and impact strength come first.
  • Under the hood: Radiator tanks and engine covers; thermal stability and chemical resistance come first.

Our products for these parts

Quality and certificates

The automotive quality management standard IATF 16949 is held by our group company Colorex. If your project requires this certificate, tell us at the quotation stage and we will plan the supply setup with you. For color projects, we recommend defining the target color difference (ΔE) and the measuring illuminant in your order. Every shipment comes with a certificate of analysis (CoA), MSDS and TDS.

Shipping

Our plant is 30 minutes from Gemlik Port. We work under EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF and DAP; the ATR, EUR.1 and certificate of origin are prepared as each shipment requires.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most in automotive projects.

Is Erk-Han IATF 16949 certified?
The IATF 16949 certificate belongs to our group company Colorex. For projects that require it, simply state this in your quotation request and we will plan the supply setup together.
How is UV resistance achieved in exterior parts?
Carbon black is a strong UV absorber on its own. For colored and light-toned exterior parts, a UV and light stabilizer (HALS plus UV absorber) is used together with the color masterbatch.
What do you recommend for cabin odor?
An odor eliminating additive combined with a low-emission base polymer. The right ratio is set by a sample trial under the test conditions the part must pass.
How does color matching work?
It starts with a RAL code or a physical sample. Fill in the color matching request with the base polymer, process and target ΔE.
What information do you need for a quotation?
Part type, base polymer, process, estimated annual volume and your preferred delivery term. Use the quotation form or write to info@erkhan.com.tr.
Automotive Interior Trim — Increased volatile organic compound emission and heavy odor formation with temperature in polypropylene-based panels.
Molecular retention must be provided with a zeolite-based odor-eliminating Erk-Han additive Masterbatch that traps free monomers in the polymer matrix, and pure Erk-Han Masterbatch should be used for coloring.
