Erk-Han in defense and aerospace
In defense and aerospace parts, material requirements are defined separately for each project. Erk-Han supplies companies that make parts in this field with black and color masterbatch and functional additives such as UV and heat stabilizers; products are selected project by project, based on the base polymer and the technical specification.
Materials and requirements
- Engineering plastics: In polymers processed at high temperatures, such as PA66, PPS and PEEK, the carrier and pigment must withstand the processing temperature.
- Glass and carbon fiber reinforced parts: The masterbatch is used at a ratio that does not undermine the mechanical contribution of the reinforcement.
- Outdoor use and temperature cycling: UV and heat stabilization slow down environmental aging of the part.
- Flammability rating: If the specification defines a flammability rating, color and additive selection must be compatible with it.
Recommended Dosage
- In standard military equipment and body parts: 1.0% - 2.5%
- In high-strength composites and structural components: 2.0% - 4.0%
- In high-engineering plastics and flame retardant (FR) applications: 3.0% - 6.0%
